About Heritage Dental Centers

New Hope Staff
History
In 1964 two childhood friends, Dr. Wallace Christenson and Dr. Richard Pihlstrom, started a dental office in Brooklyn Center. They were joined by another friend, Dr. Clarence Lindley (now retired), and the practice soon outgrew the building space.
They decided to open an additional office so they purchased an old farmhouse “way out in the country”. Their neighbor was the local Fire Department and they let the firemen practice putting out fires on the old house as the building was burned down. They then built a new dental office in what is now the middle of New Hope and opened it in 1973. This gave them an additional office so they could expand and continue to grow.
Dr. Curtis Hattstrom (now retired) merged his existing practice with Heritage Dental and joined them in their new building soon after it was opened. In the following years they were joined by Dr. Jay Wilcox in 1974, Dr. Donna Lee in 2000, and Dr. Ryan Anderson in 2005.
Although all five of them are General Dentists, their special areas of interest can cover most of the needs of our patients.
Should a patient need the services of a specialist in gum disease, Dr. Shelly Bundy has been available to our patients since 1989. Since she is now planning to move “out west,” Dr. John Rieke has joined us to fulfill the needs of patients in this area.
